Ermengarda of Oluja
“I ask not why Christ has seen fit to send me into battle; I merely seek to be worthy of being his blade.”
Ermengarda of Oluja rose to prominence within the Knights Templar after donating her considerable holdings so as to be admitted to a Templar nunnery in Mühlen. Her role in defending the nunnery against bandits caused an outcry, but a three-year trial investigating the propriety of her behavior resulted in her being instated as a full Sister of the Order. Noted for her piety and martial abilities, she rose to become the Preceptrix of the Templar House in Rourell, but disappeared from historic record after joining the Damascus Crusade in 1129.
